Tough Times

Been putting out apples etc at work for the local birds but a gang of Carrion crows have the monopoly on any food around here so don't see much else (survival of the fittest). A bare piece of ground with unfrozen water is attracting a weary looking Lapwing. Out to buy some feed today and head up the coast.

Exodus

Well, after nearly 8 months away we return home to Morpeth to our dry house this weekend coming. Its all new and lovely and god they've saved me some decorating. Newcastle has been an experience but its been the regular Blackbird and Long Tailed Tit visitors that have kept us entertained in our small garden. Also the brilliant Metro system, quality and of course the beautiful bloggs of whats happening in our county, thanks people.

A return of sorts.

Yes after neglecting my beginners bird blogg due to a collection of distraction's, mainly having the river wansbeck flood my house in Morpeth and presently living in the city, my sanity is kept by a few trees behind the house and a visiting family of Long Tailed Tits and of course the wonderful selection of Bird bloggs from The Boulmer Birder and friends keeping me informed. Normal service will be resumed I hope for anyone interested.

A long awaited visit over the moors via Stanhope to the mighty High Force on the river Tees, managed to spot my first Red Kite soaring over the moors, beautiful.
